Dr Efosa Michael Uwubamwen, MBBS, MSc Public Health (2023)

“I believe that creativity, art and design have a pivotal role to play in the the world of health and healthcare.”

Efosa is a registered medical doctor with a background in major trauma and more than nine years of medical training behind him. He is now specialising in the emerging field of Creative Health, a subspecialty of Public Health.

As a creative, his practices are wide-ranging and largely self-taught. Whether it’s writing children’s literature, creative direction or image making, projects are carried out with an instinctive attention to detail. Photography came about as a natural development, taking the opportunity of eight years spent working globally as a fashion model to observe the creative processes of some of the world’s most talented photographers and creatives.

Efosa graduated from Masaryk University in 2019 with a degree in Medicine, which included competitive placements at Cambridge University Hospitals. He went on to complete a tenure working at one of Europe's most highly respected institutions, King’s College Hospital in London, where he continues to work on a part-time basis.

Currently, he divides non-clinical time among creative and business endeavours STUDIOEMU, Ralph the Emu and Healthpush. The goal: to improve the way health is approached in our society through better, more intentional design and by utilising art as a tool for communication and community growth.
